The onset of the pandemic brought about the urgent need of medical textile on a nation-wide basis. India needed humongous quantities of masks and PPE kits overnight. Having spent more than three decades in the textile sector, we were agile enough to turnaround our manufacturing facilities into Covid-essential production units.
The deadly virus-stricken times also led to the foundation of one of our core businesses today i.e. Agro business. During the crisis, we ventured into the business of agro produce value chain. The core strength of the agro business lies in the firm belief of our Chairman that the next biggest crisis (if there has to be one) we all will face as a human race will be the crisis of food. Unfortunately, this impending crisis is likely to cover our basic food items like roti, sabzi, dal and chawal.
